JEREZ, Spain -- Formula Ones sweeping rule changes may be contributing to defending champion Red Bulls dismal start to the preseason. Hirving Lozano Jersey . The smaller teams just dont see his troubles transferring into a major shift in the balance of power this season. F1 decided to overhaul its rulebook after the 2013 season, when Sebastian Vettel paraded his Red Bull to victory in the last nine races to win his fourth consecutive title. However, team bosses and chief engineers told The Associated Press that the move to more expensive turbo engines, as well as numerous other changes, will only reinforce the dominance of the front-runners who are better equipped to absorb the increased costs and have money left over to spend on other aspects of their vehicles. Many of those who help run the teams that rarely, if ever, reach the podium expect the gap between the top and bottom to only get bigger. Williams chief technical officer, Pat Symonds, said the best way to encourage parity was not through change, but rather by creating "stability" that would level the technological playing field. "If you stir up the rules to make it economically more difficult, absolutely no, you are not going to make the racing closer," he said. Symonds spoke to the AP in Williams hospitality tent pitched at the end of a row of the other teams luxurious motorhomes at the Jerez track, where preseason testing is being held until Friday. Symonds joined Williams this season from struggling Marussia to help in what he called a rebuilding of the team, whose ninth and last constructors title came in 1997, last grand prix victory was in 2012, and which earned just five points last year. "Changing to the 2014 power unit and then running the 2014 power unit is very significantly more expensive than it was prior," Symonds said. "Now that hits the smaller and the mid-sized teams much harder than it does the big teams." Force India deputy team principal Bob Fernley said his team and others agreed. "The disparity between the teams that are lower down the grid and the ones at the front is also connected to how much you can spend on development," Fernley said. "We are all having to spend roughly 100 million euros ($135.74 million) to go racing; thats to build a car, to go to each of the 19 races. So whatever youve got above that is your development. So if youve got 10 million and Ferrari have got 100 million, theres always going to be a difference." Besides switching to a 1.6-litre V6 turbo engine from last years 2.4-litre V8 engine, the rule changes focus on boosting cars energy recovery systems, and alter their fuel limit, weight, and body. F1 also decided to award double points to the seasons last race to keep the title race alive, and fans and TV audiences interested. Caterham team principal Cyril Abiteboul called the double points decision an "artificial" fix to try to increase competition in appearance, while not in reality. Abiteboul said he supported the move to push innovation in F1 so that it could continue its mission of "preceding the automobile industry." But he said applying so many changes in one year instead of over two or three hurts smaller teams like Caterham, which didnt win a point in its first two seasons. For both Fernley and Abiteboul, the new regulations put more importance on the engine manufacturers: Renault (Red Bulls engine maker), Mercedes and Ferrari, who in addition to having their own factory teams, also sell engines to the other eight teams. For a smaller team "to win a race I think is a little bit extreme," Abiteboul said. "That would really only happen if one of the three engine manufacturers we have this season has a real performance advantage on the other two, firstly, and even if that happens I would expect that the factory team of that engine manufacturer would have an edge." Although Red Bull has managed just 14 laps through three days of testing due to engine problems, it should still be in fine shape come season end. The season begins with the Australian Grand Prix on March 16. The Brazilian-born strikers brace drew him level with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo as the leagues leading scorers with 17 goals apiece through 16 rounds. "The important thing is to help the team win, not the goals," Diego Costa said. After a first half dominated by defence, Atletico pressed Valencia into its area and Diego Costa did the rest. http://www.soccermexicojerseysteamstore.com/alfredo-talavera-mexico-jersey/ . - Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson sat on the scorers table at Oracle Arena on Wednesday morning.GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Seattle Seahawks storm into Arizona on a four-game winning streak, looking very much like the Super Bowl championship team of a season ago.The Arizona Cardinals, already assured a playoff berth, send a quarterback who wasnt around a month ago against a fierce Seattle defence ranked No. 1 that has given up a combined 27 points in its last four games. The Sunday night matchup has huge post-season implications. The Seahawks (10-4) can close in on another NFC West title with a victory. The Cardinals (11-3) can clinch the NFCs No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs — including the Super Bowl should they get there.Seattle loses and theres a chance, however slight, that the Seahawks dont even make the playoffs. Arizona loses and the Cardinals probably are a wild-card team. There are plenty of doubters about Arizona, even though the Cardinals have the NFCs best record. Dont count the Seahawks among them. You definitely respect a team thats won as many games as theyve won, Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner said. They dont just win games by luck. Theyve done a lot of good things, but we feel like were on a roll and were going to keep that roll going. With Arizonas quarterback issues, Seattle is an 8-point favourite on the road in what Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald calls the biggest regular-season game of his career. It doesnt bother me, Fitzgerald said. Its not about what people think. Its about going out there and playing football, playing fast and executing.Arizona has persevered through a litany of injuries, most recently to Drew Stanton, who took over at quarterback when Carson Palmer went down to a season-ending knee injury. With Stanton out with a sprained right knee, coach Bruce Arians has turned to Ryan Lindley, signed from the San Diego practice squad after Palmer was hurt.Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett doesnt know much about Lindley.Just that hes a quarterback, and one of my favourite meals is quarterback, Bennett said.Lindley got the nod over rookie Logan Thomas, although Arians has said he would have a package for Thomas and might use both quarterbacks.I think Bruce did a really good job of letting that out, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said, because he made us have to go ahead and think about all the stuff that he (Thomas) could do as well.Lindley, in his third NFL season, was Arizonas No. 3 quarterback last season and didnt play. He lost out to Thomas for the No. 3 job in the preseason.Lindley had four inglorious starts in his rookie season, with seven interceptions and no touchdowns. Jonathan dos Santos Jersey. He holds the dubious record of most pass attempts (182) without a touchdown in NFL history. But everybody else is their starters, Seattle defensive end Cliff Avril said. They still have the same O-line ... they still have all their guys, they still have Larry, who is a heck of a wide receiver. I think anybody could throw to him and hell catch it.Some things to watch when the Seahawks meet the Cardinals:CORRALLING WILSON: When the teams met in Seattle a month ago, and the Seahawks won 19-3, Arizona held Marshawn Lynch to 39 yards rushing and sacked Russell Wilson seven times. But Wilson slipped away from the pass rush for some big plays, too. The Seattle quarterback rushed for 73 yards, 40 on one play in the drive for the Seahawks lone touchdown.Hes kind of like Houdini, Arizona defensive end Calais Campbell said. He can make people miss with the best of them. The big thing is for everybody to continue to rush him and try to swarm-tackle.SEATTLES Defence: The Seahawks defence has put up some incredible numbers during the four-game winning streak.Seattle has allowed 27 points, 752 yards (188 per game), 51 first downs (12.8 per game), 325 yards rushing (81.3 per game), 427 yards passing (106.8 per game. And Seattle has 16 sacks. After missing five games with a toe injury, Wagner has 35 tackles in the last four games.ARIZONA ON THE GROUND: The Cardinals moribund rushing game came alive the last two weeks behind the surprising play of Kerwynn Williams, who was elevated from the Arizona practice squad. The Cardinals rushed for 141 yards in their win over Kansas City and, last Thursday night, 143 in their victory at St. Louis.Williams has 175 yards in 25 carries, an average of 7 yards per attempt.HOME FIELD: Arizona is 7-0 at home this season. But there figure to be a lot of Seattle fans in the crowd as some Cardinals season-ticket holders opted to sell theirs for this game to make a handsome profit.I do remember the game here last year, Wagner said. I think there was a point where I felt like I heard Seahawks fans louder than their fans.Seattle won that game 34-22, one of only two losses at home for Arizona since Arians took over.TURNOVERS: If Arizona has a chance, it probably will need significant help from its opportunistic defence. The Cardinals have a plus-12 turnover margin, tied for second best in the NFL. Their defence has scored nine touchdowns, most in the league.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL ' ' '
