The Panthers lost right tackle Darryl Williams to a knee injury and tight end Greg Olsen to a foot injury during the game. We’ve since learned right guard Trai Turner will miss the game as well. That means the Panthers offensive line is a mess. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner and quarterback Cam Newton will have to figure out how to minimize the damage Newton takes. Expect a lot of short passes to slow down the rush. The Panthers passing and return game is also short handed. Wide receiver Damiere Byrd has been ruled out with a knee injury and wide receiver Curtis Samuel will miss his second game due to an unexpected heart murmur procedure. I think the Panthers have the weapons to absorb their loss. Outside of Greg Olsen none of the Panthers injuries are considered to have long term effects.The Falcons have fewer injured players but they will be missing to key players. Running back Devonta Freeman has been ruled out with a knee injury. Earlier in the week is was announced two key Falcons defenders were sent to injured reserve. Safety Keanu Neal and linebacker Deion Jones were both injured in the season opening loss to the Eagles. Those three players are tough for the Falcons to overcome. Here’s the game notes.
