What are you initial thoughts?Coaching Snapshot: Wide Receivers Coach Rob Moore A look into OC Matt LaFleur’s offensive staffName: Rob MooreRole: Wide Receiver CoachNFL Coaching Experience: 4 seasonsPositions Coached: Wide Receivers Coach (Buffalo, 2014), Wide Receivers Coach (Oakland, 2015-2017).Collegiate Coaching Experience:Wide Receivers Coach (Phoenix Junior College, 2009), Wide Receivers Coach (Syracuse, 2010-2013).Coaching Track RecordBuffalo BillsAfter enjoying a 12 year playing career and spending six seasons coaching high school and college receivers, Rob Moore was given the opportunity to coach in the NFL.He was brought in to join Doug Marrone’s coaching staff in Buffalo. Moore had worked with Marrone during his time coaching in Syracuse. In Buffalo, Moore was tasked with coaching first-round pick - fourth overall - WR Sammy Watkins. Other receivers on the 2014 roster included Marquise Goodwin Womens Eddie George Jersey , Chris Hogan and Robert Woods to name a few.Moore helped Watkins to a solid rookie season. Watkins posted the second highest total receiving yards and average yards per game, and set the Bills franchise records for a rookie, with 982 receiving yards on 65 receptions. The numbers could have been higher had he not spent his rookie season catches passes from both QB EJ Manuel and QB Kyle Orton.Woods had a solid season in 2014 as well. He posted the second highest receiving yards and at the time set his highest total of receiving touchdowns. Woods tied his touchdown total last season in LA in the Rams offensive scheme. Hogan, who had a resurgence when leaving Buffalo for New England, had a good season under Moore. He posted four touchdowns - a number he just recently passed last season.Moore was dismissed - as was the rest of Marrone’s staff - after just a 9-7 season. Had he stuck around, he could have continued to develop Watkins into the player the Bills drafted him to be.Oakland RaidersMoore wasn’t unemployed for long. In fact, he would an opportunity to work with another receiver picked fourth overall - WR Amari Cooper. Oakland also spent in free agency on veteran WR Michael Crabtree in 2015.HC Jack Del Rio offensive unit was led by OC Bill Musgrave. Musgrave helped transform one of the league’s worst offensive units into a top 10 squad. Moore helped during the Raiders transformation. The Raiders finished the 2015 season in third place of the AFC West with a final record of 7-9. However, Moore’s work with Cooper and Crabtree cannot be ignored.Cooper busted onto the scene his rookie campaign, posting 1,070 receiving yards on 72 receptions. He averaged roughly 15 yards per catch. He also had six catches over 40 yards that season. Crabtree nearly recorded a 1 Womens Jayon Brown Jersey ,000 season in his first year with the Raiders. He finished the season with 922 yards and tied his career high of receiving touchdowns at nine.In 2016, the Raiders were one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Del Rio’s squad posted a 12-4 record, and the contribution of Cooper and Crabtree was a big part of the team’s success.Carr had two of his best seasons under Musgrave. Moore’s work with the receiver group made Carr’s job much easier. Had it not been for the Christmas Eve injury, the Raiders had a shot at making a deep postseason run. Both Cooper and Carr finished 2016 totaling over 1,000 each. The duo combined for 13 receiving touchdowns. Last season, the Raiders were unable to replicate the success of the previous year, but Moore’s group still performed well. Neither Cooper nor Crabtree had over 1,000 yards receiving, but the duo combined for 15 receiving touchdowns. With Carr struggling to return to his 2016 form, the “Beastmode” experiment not being as effective as it was predicted to be and the new offensive system of Todd Downing taking place of Musgraves Womens Dion Lewis Jersey , the Raiders were a shell of themselves.Tennessee TitansMoore will be on the sidelines of Nissan Stadium this season, hoping to help the young Titans receivers burst onto the scene in a new, fresh offensive scheme. Having been successful in his previous stints as a receivers coach, Moore once again will work in developing a receiver selected in the top five. He had success with Watkins, did well with Cooper and now will work with second-year receiver Corey Davis.Moore’s experience - both as a coach and as a player - should help him build a solid foundation with the receiving group. Moore needs to mold Davis into a number one receiver - while also enhancing Taywan Taylor skills, helping Tajae Sharpe bounce back and getting the best out of veteran receiver Rishard Matthews.OC Matt LaFleur’s offense will lean on the receivers to be both reliable and productive. Moore - who is a two-time Pro Bowler and received an All Pro honors in 1997 - is fully capable of developing the receiver talent on the roster. His track record proves it.

  • The NFL’s TV ratingsDatum30.05.2019 09:39

The NFL’s TV ratings possibly were down by two percent for the first night of the draft in Nashville possible because all those extra people were actually the draft in Nashville.Via the Womens Jonnu Smith Jersey , the NFL initially estimated that 500,000 fans attended the event from Thursday through Saturday, before adjusting the estimate to 600,000.With no turnstiles or other means for getting an official head count, the math can get fuzzy — and the numbers can conveniently get inflated, since the bigger the event seems, the better the deal the NFL can get from the cities that will be hosting it in the future.Indeed, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp estimated crowds of 200,000 for Thursday and 200,000 for Friday, per the . The third day Womens Taywan Taylor Jersey , as usual, ended up being more sparse (as the photo accompanying this article suggests). Then again, the third day seems to last forever, so maybe 200,000 were there at different stages of a very long afternoon/early evening.Whatever the official number, and whether it was or wasn’t influenced by the introduction of “alternative facts,” the draft is a big deal. Even though the ultimate reality show’s ultimate reality show is ultimately a show about nothing, since in light of today’s technology the whole thing could be done via group text message. The Colts offensive line is closing in on five straight games without allowing a sack, but they will have to navigate the rest of Sunday’s game without center Ryan Kelly.Kelly went to the blue medical tent and then the locker room after going down on a Marlon Mack run in the fourth quarter. He’s being evaluated for a concussion and will not return to the game.Evan Boehm has taken over for Kelly. Given the time remaining and score, it might not be long before Andrew Luck is out as well. That score is 38-3 as the Colts didn’t let Kelly’s loss stop them from completing their fifth touchdown drive of the day. Luck hit Dontrelle Inman for a seven-yard score and that gives Luck three touchdown passes for the seventh-straight game. The first two scores went to T.Y. Hilton and Kelly’s injury has been the only bump in the road for the Colts offense on Sunday.: Jacoby Brissett is indeed in as the Colts run out the clock on what should be a win.

  • Hue Jackson didn’t rule Datum30.05.2019 09:11

Hue Jackson didn’t rule out taking back the play-calling duties after the Browns gained 305 yards in 68 minutes Lee Roy Selmon Jersey , 10 seconds Sunday. That likely won’t sit well with first-year offensive coordinator Todd Haley.“It’s not going to be about butting heads,” Jackson said when asked about the possibility, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I’m the head coach of the football team. I will do what I feel I need to do to get this team where it needs to be.”Jackson became testy when pressed further on the issue.“I’m the head coach of the football team, period. Period,” Jackson said. “There’s nothing else that needs to be said. Nothing. I’m the head coach of the football team.”Haley has called all the plays this season, Jackson confirmed. Jackson, though, made no promises about next week when the Browns play at Pittsburgh, where Haley spent the previous six seasons as the Steelers’ offensive coordinator, or beyond.Cleveland went without an official offensive coordinator in the first two seasons after Jackson took over as head coach, with Jackson serving in both roles. Jackson promised Haley “total autonomy” when the Browns hired Haley in the spring.“Yeah, I mean, I’ve been respectful,” Jackson said. “That’s why you bring guys in and you make them the coordinator. Again, there are some things we’ve got to fix fast to get this thing back to where it needs to be.”The Browns entered the game ranked 20th in total offense Ronald Jones Jersey , including 23rd in passing. Adding a Top-5 talent to any NFL roster has the potential to drastically change the trajectory of any franchise. Get it right, and your team could be competing for a title one or two years later.Get it wrong, and a general manager could be looking for a new job. So. No pressure. Here, we’re going to bring you both sides of the coin and leave the final decision to you, Bucs Nation.DAVID HARRISON - DEFENSEChuck Cook-USA TODAY SportsIt’s #FollowTheLicht season, and Jason needs to point his beam squarely onto the defensive side of the ball.Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver, competitive, even without a Top-5 draft addition. But, unless the defense gets one touchdown per game better in the upcoming season it'll all be for nothing when January 2020 rolls around.James Yarcho - OffenseMatthew Emmons-USA TODAY SportsI have no issues with the arguments David made above. That said, the Bucs will need to secure the best offensive lineman in the draft if at all possible. Bruce Arians’ offense is predicated on the deep ball, the run game, and maximizing the ability to score from anywhere on the field. In order to do so, the Bucs have to keep Jameis Winston upright. That won’t happen with the state of the current offensive line. Now Mike Edwards Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey , if Williams is gone - which he may be - then the Bucs will be in prime positionto trade back with a quarterback needy team that will have to pay that franchise quarterback premium to move up. Given that the Bucs only have six picks, this would be the ideal situation.I’m not going to advocate that the Buccaneers take a receiver or a running back at number five. IF they go offense, it has to be in the trenches. And if Williams is gone, they will need to go to the defensive side if they can’t move down.Something has to be done about this line. There’s a solid chance Donovan Smith returns, so he’s likely going to keep the left tackle spot regardless of the draft. That doesn’t make him any less of a question mark, though. Then you have the entire right side with Caleb Benenoch, Alex Cappa, and Demar Dotson. Dotson has been a solid starter for years, but the knee injuries and age seem to have caught up with him in 2018.You can’t win in the NFL if you don’t win the battle up front. That should be the number one focus this off-season for the Bucs before they address the needs at cornerback, linebacker, and defensive line. You can’t fix it all in one year, but the Bucs will do their best to do just that - and it starts by protecting the franchise quarterback.

The San Francisco 49ers are doing their due diligence on a host of 2019 NFL Draft prospects Dwight Clark Jersey , and it should surprise nobody that Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa is part of that group.Bosa is in Atlanta for the Super Bowl, and he told NBC Sports Bay Area on Friday that he metwith John Lynch at an Ohio State practice. Matt Maiocco tweeted that the practice was “several weeks ago ... before Rose Bowl.”Bosa sat out much of the 2018 college season after suffering a core muscle injury. He announced in October that he would not return to the Buckeyes and would instead focus on getting ready for the draft. A month later he signed with an agent. I’m guessing he took in Ohio State practices when they were in LA for the Rose Bowl and it was a quick trip for Lynch. The star edge rusher said he will be a full participant in the Combine later this month. His dad said he might also re-test at the Ohio State Pro Day, but I’m guessing the bulk of his time after the Combine will involve visiting with teams. Who knows if that will include a trip to Santa Clara, but the 49ers probably have a pretty good handle on him at this point. Miss the televised chaos of the draft? Unofficially, well, did anyone really believe that the Packers would hire a coach without getting the approval of their $33. RENTON Steve Largent Jersey Green , Wash. (AP) — For most of the season, the Seattle Seahawks have had the best running offense in the NFL, trying to win without throwing the ball all over the field. What the Seahawks showed in Sunday’s win over Carolina is that when necessary, they can still rely on the right arm of Russell Wilson.“There’s been so much talk about the run game and we need to get that going and such, but we always designed our approach to be balanced. That means when you have the opportunity to run it, you run it. When you have the opportunity to throw it, you throw it,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. “But you have to really commit to the running game to make that happen in the way we’re doing it. So the fact it went this week and Russell threw for 330-something and had a really efficient day, that’s going to happen sometimes.”Wilson’s passing was the difference in Seattle’s 30-27 victory over the Panthers, which may end up being the reason why the Seahawks make the postseason. Seattle (6-5) now plays four of its final five games at home, with its lone road trip down the coast to San Francisco, and essentially controls its own path to a wild-card spot in the NFC.Wilson threw for two touchdowns, including a 35-yard strike to David Moore on fourth-and-3 late in the fourth quarter that pulled Seattle even at 27-all, and set the stage for Seattle to complete its rally with Sebastian Janikowski’s 31-yard field goal on the final play. This was a far different passing game than what Seattle showed in the first two weeks of the season when the run game was mostly ignored. At this point, Seattle’s run game is so respected that there are opportunities for Wilson that simply weren’t there earlier in the season. Couple that with better protection, and Seattle was primed for a game where its quarterback carried the load.“We have star receivers out there on the flank, we have tight ends that can catch, we’ve got running backs that can catch. We have guys that can protect really well. So there is nothing we really can’t do,” Wilson said. “We want to play tough, physical football. We also want to be explosive in the passing game, spread the ball around.”Wilson’s 339-yard passing day was his best game of the season and the only time since Week 1 against Denver he’s thrown for more than 250 yards. He has just three 300-yard passing games since the beginning of the 2017 season. Wilson was 15 of 19 for 218 yards in the second half alone. The focus on running the ball beginning in Week 3 is a big reason why Seattle finds itself in the playoff conversation. But Carolina was determined not to let Seattle control the game on the ground. Seattle’s streak of rushing for at least 150 yards in seven straight games came to an end, and its 2.7 yards per carry was a season low. That may sound like a blueprint has been created for how to stop Seattle’s run game. But not every team has a front seven like Carolina.“They really went after it. They studied well, they did a couple of new things we had to adjust to and they’re just really good. All their players are strong and physical and they did a nice job of committing to it,” Carroll said. “That allowed us to throw the football like we did.”NOTES: Carroll said it was surprising WR Doug Baldwin was able to play despite a pulled groin muscle. Baldwin had five catches and played 90 percent of the offensive snaps. “I can’t imagine he’s not sore. It was extraordinary that he played. He had a groin pull that was legit and he just managed it, made it through the week. I don’t know anybody that’s played with a pull like that,” Carroll said. … Carroll had no update on the timeline of LB K.J. Wright, who missed his second straight game with a knee injury. … The one injury of significance to come out of Sunday’s game was a sternum injury to fullback Tre Madden.

So he sat, and White was activated. He made one receptions for 22-yards. The reception gave him four on the year for 92-yards and no touchdowns.White’s longest reception of his career happened this year as well. You might remember it. He caught the hail Mary attempt from quarterback Mitch Trubisky at the one-yard line at the end of Chicago’s loss to New England this year. For his career, White has 25 catches for 285-yards and has yet to find the end zone. For a former first-round draft pick in 2015, saying his career has been a disappointment is a big understatement.Robinson looks like he’s likely to come back in this game against the Eagles. Which means White may be inactive again. If so, it only solidifies what may already be sealed. White will be looking for a new opportunity in 2019. And while the Bucs may have had a rather effective offense in 2018, it’s not everyday you get a chance to rehabilitate a receiver who was once compared to DeAndre Hopkins at the price you’ll get White for this off-season.Philadelphia and Chicago face-off late Sunday afternoon to wrap up wild card weekend. It should be a fun slate of games for all football fans Bryan Anger Jersey , even if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t a part of it.In case you missed it, you can find the rest of our wild card free-agent preview, here:INDIANAPOLIS COLTS @ HOUSTON TEXANS (SATURDAY, JANUARY 5TH, 4:35 PM EST)SEATTLE SEAHAWKS @ DALLAS COWBOYS (SATURDAY, JANUARY 5TH, 8:15 PM EST)LOS ANGELES CHARGERS @ BALTIMORE RAVENS (SUNDAY, JANUARY 6TH, 1:05 PM EST)

Hopefully this works as planned."Well Donovan Smith Jersey , there ya have it. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired Bruce Arians, the former Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals head coach. It’s very rare when the overall majority of a fanbase and the front office/ownership of a franchise all agree on a candidate. As we all know, NFL coaching searches can be fickle, misleading, and downright tiresome. With all of the wants, needs, opinions, numbers, etc. - it’s easy to see why so many franchises miss when they go to look for a new leader. But the stars have aligned in the early stages of 2019, and the result is the biggest head coaching hire in nearly 20 years. That’s right. The magnitude of this hire rivals the trade for Jon Gruden before the 2002 season. Just like Gruden, Arians is expected to be the spark the franchise needs to take them to the next level. Granted, Tampa Bay was a perennial playoff contender compared to today’s perennial loser when Gruden was brought in, but that’s why Arians was the popular choice - he is believed to be the one who can right the ship. How good of a head coach is this man? How about two Coach of the Year trophies? How ‘bout a 61% winning record for his career? It seems to safe to say that the Bucs got themselves a good one. First and foremost, he is considered to be the savior for Jameis Winston. Arians and Winston have a long history and the new Bucs’ head coach has been on record saying that he would love to work with the young quarterback. The two seem like a perfect fit and based off Arians’ track record, you can’t help but be excited when you see who he’s worked with over the yearsArians was the reason for Ben Roethlisberger’s development, Andrew Luck’s seamless transition to the NFL, and the reason Carson Palmer lasted five more years in the league. His reputation developing quarterbacks speaks for itself. If he can fix Winston, then he can fix the Bucs. There’s no reason to think otherwise. Tampa Bay has had one of the premier offenses in the league over the past two seasons. Outside of the need to upgrade the offensive line, they are average to great at every position on that side of the ball. All the unit needs is consistency and better decision-making from Winston and they’re In Like Flint. Outside of his experience with quarterbacks, Arians’ offenses have had major success as well. His offenses in Pittsburgh ranked outside of the top-10 in DVOA just once in five seasons, per Football Outsiders. One could argue that he’s never had this much talent on offense. Antonio Brown was just drafted when Arians left Pittsburgh. The Colts had Luck, but that was about it. The Cardinals had Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald, and David Johnson. That trio led the Cardinals to a 13-3 record and a NFC Championship appearance in 2015. They were second in the NFL in points and were fourth in the league in DVOA. Point is Jameis Winston Jersey , there’s a possibility that this could be the most talented offense that Arians has ever coached. While the Bucs may not have a running back like Johnson, they certainly have a receiver with Fitzgerald’s talent in Mike Evans and a quarterback in Winston that is now a veteran, a la Palmer. What Arians didn’t have that year was a Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard, or even an Ali Marpet. If you expect this offense to take a step back in 2019, think again. But all of his accolades and accomplishments aside, Arians will bring immediate respect and a true sense of leadership to the locker room. There will be a sense of camaraderie, a sense of accountability, and a sense of what it means to lead a team of men instilled at One Buc Place. Sure, Arians comes with some concerns - his health being the top one. That is a big concern, as we’ve seen with him, Gary Kubiak, and even Urban Meyer - it doesn’t take much for a coach to step down due to health concerns. But at the same time, Tampa Bay is a franchise that is desperate need of change and those concerns fall to the wayside in the grand scheme of things. Especially if Arians wants to coach. He also never established a running game in Arizona outside of the 2015 season. Even when Johnson went nuts in 2016, the Cardinals were still just 18th overall running the ball. That could be an issue considering the fact Winston needs a running game to rely on if he wants to reach his true potential. Combine that fact with Tampa Bay’s putrid offensive line and there is a recipe for trouble there. Only time will tell the true magnitude of this hiring. If everything goes as planned then Tampa Bay could be in the playoffs as early as 2020. If nothing goes as planned, then the team will be stuck in the same cycle it has been in for the past decade. What do they have to lose? Only their jobs. But if general manager Jason Licht and the Glazers can’t turn this franchise around with his hire, the odds are that nothing can. While that is a stark message, there is truth lurking just beneath the surface. Hopefully Arians and his future staff can keep that truth buried. Eight NFL teams will carry on their practice squads a player who came from an expanded program for overseas players. The International Player Pathway was instituted last year. It aims to provide international athletes the opportunity to compete at the NFL level.Alex Gray (Atlanta Falcons), Alex Jenkins (New Orleans Saints), Eric Nzeocha (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Efe Obada (Carolina Pathners) participated in 2017 and will return to those NFC South teams. The NFL announced Tuesday that the AFC North was added this year. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers also will get an exemption for an 11th practice squad member who's ineligible to be activated during the season. Two come from the United Kingdom and two from Germany. Those players are Moritz Bohringer (Bengals), originally drafted in the 2016 sixth round by Minnesota; German Football League player Christopher Ezeala (Ravens); former British American Football League player Tigie Sankoh (Browns); and former English professional rugby player Christian Scotland-Williamson (Steelers).

in the draft and most of the speculation about what they’ll do with it has centered on the defensive line.Nick Bosa or Josh Allen could come in as a defensive end or they could add defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to a group that’s been the focus of past team building efforts. Arik Armstead Deion Sanders Jersey , DeForest Buckner and Solomon Thomas were taken in the first round between 2015 and 2017 and the team traded for Dee Ford this offseason to give them an edge rusher.Any concern that they would be putting too many eggs in one basket by using another first-round pick on a lineman aren’t shared by head coach Kyle Shanahan.“You can never have too [many] D-linemen,” Shanahan said, via ESPN.com. “They are very hard to find. And when you get guys who are difference-makers, those guys can change the game as much as anyone just on their own by rushing the passer.”The 49ers haven’t won more than six games in any of the last four seasons, so loading up on linemen hasn’t made the right kind of difference to this point. Should they do the expected and go to the well again, the hope will be that this year’s addition will swing the tide in their favor. How do you go about preparing for a coordinator who has never called a play before?“It’s a good question. Obviously, he’s going to have his wrinkle. They’ve got what they put on tape. Trying to see what he’s been influenced by in his past. We’ll see as the game goes on. Obviously, it’s going to be very important for in-game adjustments to see what they do in-game, but it’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with.” He’s such a neophyte when it comes to coaching. Do you look back at his playing career?“Any time you have a chance, what he’s been influenced by, absolutely. As a quarterback, where he’s been. So, you look at all that. But, at the same time he might have a ton of knowledge, but again, it’s transferring it over to the player and all that stuff, too. Again, it’s going to come down to gameday and making as many in-game adjustments as we can as we see plays develop.” Do you anticipate former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians to be a heavy influence? How do you approach that?“I don’t know. It’ll be interesting, for sure. Obviously, that’s where he’s most attached to, but at the same time, it could be anything.” What do you think is getting in the way of LB Reuben Foster playing like he did last year?“Obviously, he missed the first couple of games of the year and it’s not going the way he wants and all that stuff. I do think he’s moving in the right direction. He did have his best practice of the year yesterday. He’s going to be fine. I get it, in this day and age, with everything needs to happen now. But, I promise you, Reuben is going to be just fine when this is all said and done. Second-year player, to push the panic button is way, way premature in my mind.” He seems like a guy that is very hard on himself and really wants to be very good. Do you think that sometimes may lead to pressing for a guy like that?“For a second-year player, and it goes throughout the league, it’s just my opinion, I think the second-year player is the hardest year for a player in general. When they come in as rookies, you have kids who come in and they don’t know anything. They’re just locked in on their coach, they’re trying as hard as they can, they want to make a great first impression, they’re out there balling, they know nothing about anything and they’re just running and hitting. When they get into their second year they’ve got social media, they’ve got a bank full of money, they’ve got family, they’ve got entourage, they’ve got a whole bunch of stuff outside, along with what they perceive as more knowledge of football. So, they forget what made them great as rookies in the first place. Not that they forget, but it’s a balancing act. So, there is a little bit of another adjustment period that they have to go through in their second year. The exciting part, and I get it, when things aren’t going great people want to point out the negative and they struggle, people struggle to see the positives. [DB Adrian Colbert] A.C. had his best game before he got hurt. [CB] Ahkello [Witherspoon] is showing a lot of promise. [DL] Solomon [Thomas] had a really nice game last week. So, guys are moving in the right direction. I know through all the stuff that’s been happening this year, it’s very hard to see. But, if you sit down in the film room and you truly study it DeForest Buckner Jersey , you could see them all improving.” There are clips out there of Reuben running around with seemingly a dead right arm. What’s happening on those plays? Is that something that you’re aware of before it’s happening or do you see it?“He’s going through some stuff, obviously. But, it’s not going to stop him from playing. He’s a fighter. He wants to be great. It’s very, very important to him. So, whatever ailment he may have it’s not going to stop him from being on the football field. It might trigger here and there, but he’s not coming off. It’s something he’s just going to have to deal with.” Would you rather he take himself out of the game so that he’s not playing with one arm?“Sometimes.” What did he do yesterday in practice that impressed you?“His feet looked fast. He looked explosive out of his break. He looked faster than he’s been in practice. Great intent and focus. It was just an all-around package. The expectation now, he’s got to back it up. He’s got to stack days. When you practice at 50-percent, you play at 50-percent. You play at 100-percent, it’s like muscle memory. They always say when you get back in the weight room, it’s all muscle memory. It comes back to you. Well, it’s the same thing for a football player in practice. If you train your muscles to go 50-percent, you’ll be 50-percent. That’s why [head coach] Kyle [Shanahan] is so great at stressing the importance of deliberate practice and stressing the importance of having a great day of practice and why it’s so important for us to play the guys who perform best in practice. As an organization, and especially Kyle, it’s important to know that you’re practicing at that high level because we trust that you will be able to play at that high level. Long answer, short, he was alive. Let’s just say that.” When you guys played Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen the first time, other than the first pass, he didn’t really do much against you. What have you seen from him in the past couple of weeks?“You know, it’s the same for him. He’s got tremendous accuracy. You can tell he’s getting a little bit more comfortable in the pocket and all that stuff and getting comfortable with the concepts that were being asked. But, it really is the same thing. It’s the same thing. He’s a rookie. There’s a maturation process that he’s got to go through. But, I think he’s put on some really good tape. He’s definitely got a first-round talent arm and he is going to be a really good football player.” Regarding Reuben’s shoulder, in the majority of the games he’s played, he’s either had a stinger or had to leave at some point due to one of his shoulders acting up. Is that a long-term concern or is it just something that maybe will be part of his career?“I think because of the way he hits and the way he plays, it’s always going to be a part of his game. He’s always going to get dinged up. But, at the same time, he’s got such a great mindset that he will fight through all of that stuff. He does want to play and he’s got a tremendous mindset. So, there will be days when he’s fresh and he’s running and hitting, but there’s some days where he’s going to hit somebody so hard that he kind of hurts himself. I don’t think it’s going to stop him. But, at the same time, I’m really not concerned with Reuben and him being an injury guy. He plays the game so hard and so violently that sometimes accidents happen. But, he’ll stand up, he’ll play the next play.” How is your competition at free safety shaping up?“We’ll see. Today is a big day with pads on and all of that stuff. Guys are just working through, trying to figure out who’s going to replace A.C.” How did you feel like your defense played?“There’s always going to be stuff we can do better. You know, in that first half, I thought they fought their tails off. Went in the locker room at halftime excited. I’ll be honest with you, offense had just scored, it was 22-7, we were getting the ball. I really believed that we were going to get a big stop or takeaway to start the second half on defense which we had the opportunity when A.C. and Spoon went up to go get that go ball. I just felt like they had played on a short field and I just felt like [Los Angeles Rams head coach] Sean [McVay] was eventually going to really try to take a shot. It was going to be early when he had a normal field to play with. I thought they were going to make a mistake in doing it and they did. We just didn’t make them pay. But, in that first half, I thought we came out with a lot of energy, got the three-and-out, stood up on a short field to force a field goal. On the next drive we had a pick-six in our hands to force another third down conversion for us to force a punt. But, in that game, I just felt like in that first half, guys came out with great energy, they competed their tails off and we were getting a lot of wins from down to down. We had it, when it was 3-0 and we had that ball in our hands, we had a chance to swing that whole game open. Those are the ones that we’ve got to take advantage of.” Is DB Tarvarius Moore close as far as the whole transition from safety to corner?“Yeah, he’s gotten a lot better. His practice habits are fantastic. He’s gotten better every single day. He’s one play away now.”

A contested..."In case you missed last week’s story outlining free agent wide receiver options for the Seattle Seahawks, there’s a specific type of wide receiver they should be expected to target. A contested catch, big-bodied outside receiver who can round out the starting trio should David Moore fail to make the leap, but not a player who will completely stunt his development. There are few wide receivers likely to join the current crop of free agents, and even fewer who fit Seattle’s need. Players like DeSean Jackson and Travis Benjamin don’t fit the bill, as the Seahawks are good on vertical threats. Cameron Meredith, Seth Roberts and Nelson Agholor would be unlikely targets, as well, with both Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett capable of dominating out of the slot. However, there are a couple of names that could draw Seattle’s interest once/if they hit the open market.Pierre GarconOne of Kyle Shanahan’s favorite wide receivers didn’t have his option picked up by the 49ers, and will become a free agent. In two seasons with San Francisco, Garcon battled injuries, playing in 16 games between 2017 and ‘18. Making the 49ers’ decision even easier is the fact Garcon will be 33 by the time the 2019 season begins, and wasn’t very productive when he was healthy in San Francisco. However, Garcon has been a supremely reliable wide receiver over the course of his career, is just two seasons removed from a 1000-yard season, and had the fourth highest yards per game of his career in 2017. Whichever team signs Garcon will be making a gamble that there is something left in the tank, and they’ll be getting the physical, difficult-day-at-the-office wide receiver he’s been previously.Perhaps it would be too big of a gamble for the Seahawks to make, risking that they end up with a washed up Garcon and a plateaued Moore as their third and fourth wide receivers. But, they could also be getting a solid outside option at a low cost, and someone whose younger self resembled the receiver Moore has appeared to be at times. If the price is right, this is a gamble worth making for Seattle. DeVante ParkerParker’s situation is similar to Vic Beasley’s Womens Justin Britt Jersey , who was written about here on Tuesday: Mostly disappointing through four seasons, with a brief high (56 catches, 744 yards and four touchdowns in 2016), but likely to be cut before he can play 2019 under the fifth year option. However, like Beasley, Parker’s upside remains attractive. The 26-year-old possesses great size at 6-foot-3 and 209 pounds, and has the kind of length and fluidity in his game that made Paul Richardson so enjoyable to watch during his time with the Seahawks.Seattle could get priced out of their interest in Parker quite quickly, should a team to elect to offer him a big money one year, prove-it type of contract. Another dissuading factor for the Seahawks could be that his signing would inevitably stunt Moore’s growth; Parker’s arrival in Seattle would be an indictment of their long-term hopes for Moore. If the Seahawks have soured on Moore—and there’s no reason to believe they have—then signing Parker would be a proactive move on their part. He can provide a similar element to their wide receiver corps, and has the age and ceiling to become a long-term part of the team. Another wide receiver was added to the group on Monday, when the Cowboys declined Terrance Williams’ option. Williams will now become a free agent as well, but shouldn’t be thought of as a target for Seattle. Despite coming from Baylor, where receivers are expected to run just a handful of routes (slant, hitch, and go) but be exceptionally athletic, Williams is an average athlete who doesn’t particularly do anything well.Unless something changes or there is a surprise cut, the wide receiver market isn’t overly impressive. The onus is on Moore to continue to grow and get back on the trajectory he appeared to be on in October of 2018, and it’s on the Seahawks to bring in much needed competition at the position.Hunt For Ram October: A countdown to the Week 5 showdown Today is Friday, September 28. Counting today, there are ten days until the Los Angeles Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks, in what could be the game of the year for both teams. Could be. A lot of promise left in the year, for both teams.Between now and then, there’s a lot of time to kill. Every day http://www.seahawkslockerroom.com/authentic-david-moore-jersey , this space will feature an important or memorable moment from the rivalry. Some plays will be warm and fuzzy. Karate chops, plural. (Plural!) Others will be visits down a darker memory lane. Even when the Rams were bad, which was almost all the time, they still gave the Seahawks fits, more fits than appropriate. You’re still on Field Gulls, though, so you’re gonna get treated to mainly the best moments of the series. Ground rules: We’re not going back as far as the unfortunate incompletion to Bobby Engram in the end zone, with no time left on the clock in the 2004 wild-card game. Keeping it to this decade — WHICH GIVES US MORE THAN ENOUGH MATERIAL TO WORK WITH, SUCKERS.Number 10: Home teams don’t fumble, sillyWhen: October 19, 2014. Week 7.Game state: Rams 28. Seahawks 26. 3rd and 1, 1:14 remaining. Ball on STL 37.What happens: Tre Mason carries the ball for a first down that would ice the game, but he fumbles, helped by Malcolm Smith and Earl Thomas. Chaos ensues. The film:From the second angle, it’s abundantly clear that no Rams player recovers the ball fully after Mason’s fumble, especially number 46, who was ruled down by contact with possession; victory formation; game over. Even though Richard Sherman comes out of the scrum with the football, the play stands as called, the Rams keep possession, kneel it out, and the Seahawks fall to 3-3.Spoiler! Didn’t stop Seattle from finishing the season with home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Didn’t stop St. Louis’s 10-year streak of missing the playoffs.More tomorrow. Something good. I promise.

Battered Jordan Schroeder Jersey Womens , bruised and playing on the second night of a back-to-back, it would have been understandable if the youthful Vancouver Canucks gave up ground in their surprising playoff push.Instead, the Canucks found a way to beat the Los Angeles Kings.Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser scored in a shootout after Adam Gaudette tied it up with 1:38 remaining in the third period to give the Canucks a 4-3 win over the Kings on Thursday night.“I was worried that we’d be emotionally maybe a little low today just because we put a lot on the table last night,” Canucks coach Travis Green said, referencing the 1-0 loss at Anaheim on Wednesday. “Not just emotionally. Physically it was a tough game, and to win a game like that can lift a team.”Playing without defenseman Christopher Tanev and forward Jake Virtanen because of injuries sustained against the Ducks, the Canucks got typical contributions from Pettersson and Boeser Matt Calvert Jersey Womens , who each scored in regulation. But it was Gaudette who grabbed the loose puck and scored on a wrist shot from the left circle to ensure the Canucks earned at least one point, playing as the extra attacker in a role that might have gone to a healthy Virtanen under normal circumstances.“It’s really nice for Adam to get rewarded and that’s what happened,” said goalie Jacob Markstrom, who never saw the tying goal as he was still getting settled on the bench. “Ice time is up for grabs and he’s out there for 6-on-5 and scores a huge goal for us. It was a team comeback.”Markstrom made 35 saves through overtime, before allowing a shootout goal to Ilya Kovalchuk and then stopping Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe as the Canucks ended their four-game road losing streak.Alec Martinez had a goal and an assist for the Kings, who had not played at home since Jan. 21 because of the All-Star Game, bye week and a six-game road trip while Staples Center hosted the Grammys. For our young guys to go through this, it means a lot. We hope we make it. We hope we’re there at the end. But we’re learning as we go.”For the Kings, they earned a point for the fifth time in six games but remain last in the Western Conference and seven points behind the Canucks and Wild.“I think we’ve just got to learn from this stuff,” Martinez said. “I think we’ve been practicing better as of late and that’s translated to games, but like I said we need points right now.”NOTES: Tanev was placed on injured reserve and will return to Vancouver for further evaluation of an ankle injury Riley Nash Jersey Womens , Green said, while Virtanen did not play because of an upper-body injury. . The Coyotes and the Jets will wear “Doan No. 19” on the warmup jerseys prior to the game and fans will receive a Doan bobblehead.“That’s the part that I’m really excited about: to get to share it with the fans here in Arizona and to have friends and family around for it,” Doan said. “It’s something that you never, ever dream of and to get to experience it is pretty amazing.”From Halkirk, Alberta, Doan was the seventh overall pick of the 1995 NHL draft by the Winnipeg Jets and came with the franchise when moved to the desert to become the Phoenix Coyotes.Doan guided the Coyotes through four years of uncertainty while the franchise was operated by the NHL and led them to the 2012 Western Conference Finals. He earned the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for leadership on and off the ice in 2010, and took home the Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2012.Doan retired in 2017 as Arizona’s career leader in games (1,540), goals (402), assists (570), points (972), game-winning goals (69) and power-play goals (128).He spent his entire 21-year career with the organization, spurning chances for a better chances to win the Stanley Cup out of loyalty for the NHL team that drafted him.“There’s no player in our team history that meant more to this franchise than Shane http://www.officialcanucks.com/authentic-adidas-brock-boeser-jersey , and no player our franchise history that has meant more to this community than Shane,” Coyotes president and CEO Ahron Cohen said. “So it was a pretty easy decision.”At 6-foot-1, 223 pounds, Doan played with a combination of power and finesse. He also was driven to wring the most from his talent, always the last person off the ice after practice, huffing and puffing while dripping sweat after getting in a few extra laps or tipped shots.“This is a guy who spent 21 years in the NHL and his last year he was still out there,” Nash said. “He was always working on the nuances of his game to get better. It was remarkable, but that’s what good pros do, they try to get better every day.”Nash has known Doan since he was nine when he visited the Doan family’s Christian summer camp for kids at their ranch. The pair met up again eight years later as teammates in the Western Hockey League and were Coyotes together from 2003-06.Through the years of their friendship, Nash has seen first-hand Doan’s generosity, from taking the extra time to talk with fans after a game or give back to the community. He’s also seen the competitive side of Doan that raged anytime anything was on the line.Playing hockey, cards on the team plane, golf, wrestling in the basement Christopher Tanev Jersey , Doan wanted to win no matter what, his eyes widening into a maniacal look that belied his easygoing nature away from competition.“He’d take out his grandma to win at something,” Nash said. “The guy just never wanted to lose and if you beat him at something, you better be ready to go 10 rounds or whatever because he was going to get redemption. The Coyotes have a ring of honor that includes Keith Tkachuk, Jeremy Roenick and Teppo Numminen of the Coyotes, and Bobby Hull, Thomas Steen and Dale Hawerchuk of the original Jets.Doan, fittingly, will be the first player to have his number retired by the franchise.“Unexpected, maybe a little uncomfortable,” Doan said. “At the same time, so excited to have so many people coming, people that are close to me. It’s going to be so much fun.”

Rielly got things started 29 seconds in, taking a feed from Marner before Matthews scored his third of the season at 1:10.The Senators evened the score at 3:49, when Chabot stepped around Tyler Ennis at the point and took advantage of some sloppy Leafs coverage to pick up his own rebound and beat Andersen.Just 38 seconds later, Tierney got behind Toronto’s defense and beat Andersen between the pads for the Senators’ third goal on nine shots.Andersen stopped Patrick Marleau to keep his team in front with a great pad save later in the period, but Marner raced between Ottawa defensemen Cody Ceci and Mark Borowiecki on the power play before faking the Senators goalie to the ice and sliding a shot home with less than two minutes left in the period to make it 3-3.Toronto beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in overtime to open the season on Wednesday — a disjointed effort in which Leafs were stuck in their own zone for long stretches.Ottawa, meanwhile, opened its season with a 4-3 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks in a game in which the Senators led 3-2 in the third on Thursday. The Leafs got the better start they wanted Saturday, with Marner, Marleau and John Tavares all coming close early, but it was the Senators that took the lead at 9:42 of the first.Chabot’s pass from the left corner in the offensive zone went off Smith’s stick to DeMelo, who beat Andersen along the ice to snap a personal 87-game goal drought that dated back to Nov. 26, 2016.Marner had a chance to tie it with 5:47 left in the period on a penalty shot after getting slashed on a breakaway by Chris Wideman, but Anderson made a right pad save.“The younger guys did a great job,” Boucher said. “And the older guys did a terrific job of anchoring them.”NOTES: Ottawa winger Brady Tkachuk sat out with a groin injury for the second straight game. Head coach Guy Boucher said after the morning skate he’s hopeful the No. 4 pick in the June draft will be available to make his NHL debut Monday when the Senators visit the Boston Bruins. … Backup goalie Garret Sparks is expected to start for Toronto on Sunday night in Chicago.NEXT UPMaple Leafs: Visit the Chicago Blackhawks on SundaySenators: Visit the Boston Bruins on Monday

SUNRISE Youth Dustin Byfuglien Jersey , Fla. — will be ready when they visit the Florida Panthers on Thursday night, and that is — essentially — a promise. The Avs had an 11-game points streak snapped on Tuesday in a 6-3 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins.“We have to have a short memory,” said Avs coach Jared Bednar after Colorado’s unbeaten string of 9-0-2 was broken. “That’s what we’ve been preaching. I don’t care what we did yesterday, the day before or the week before.Article continues below ...“I’m worried about the next game, and that’s the way our whole team thinks. That approach was how we were able to sustain our points streak.”Colorado’s approach has been working. After finishing last in the league in 2016-2017 with only 48 points, the Avs earned 95 points last season and made the playoffs. Their 47-point improvement ranks as the fourth-best in NHL history.Meanwhile, the Panthers started slowly last season and finished with a rush — only to fall one point short of the playoffs. They have started slowly again this season but have started to gain some momentum during their current eight-game home stretch. There are just two games left on this stand — the Avs on Thursday and the New York Rangers on Saturday.Of the 16 points available to the Panthers in those games, they have picked up eight so far (3-1-2), and they could leave with 12 if all goes well the rest of this week.On Tuesday, the Panthers (11-10-5) turned in their most decisive win of the season, routing the Boston Bruins 5-0.Mike Hoffman scored two goals http://www.officialhockeyjetsshop.com/authentic-adidas-jacob-trouba-jersey , Aleksander Barkov had three assists, and goalie Roberto Luongo returned from his second stint on injured reserve this season to record his 77th career shutout, taking sole possession of ninth place on the all-time NHL list.“It was great to have ‘Lu’ back in there,” Panthers coach Bob Boughner said of Luongo, who made 32 saves in his first appearance since Nov. 23. “You could see he was in full control back there. His rebound control was amazing. There weren’t many second chances laying around his crease.”Luongo has played just 10 games this season due to a pair of lower-body injuries.Assuming he plays on Thursday — Boughner may be careful with the 39-year-old goalie and opt to start James Reimer instead — he will face an Avs team that leads the Western Conference with 10 road wins. The Avalanche are 10-5-2 on the road and 16-7-5 overall. With 37 points, the Avs are second in the Western Conference, trailing only the Nashville Predators (39 points).Florida, with 27 points, entered Wednesday tied with the Ottawa Senators for last place in the Atlantic Division. The Panthers’ offense is led by Hoffman, who was acquired from Ottawa in a steal of a trade this past offseason and has a team-high 14 goals. He also has 26 points in his past 24 games.Panthers winger Jonathan Huberdeau is also hot with six straight multi-point games. He had one goal and two assists on Tuesday and has three goals and 11 assists during his streak. Huberdeau can tie Pavel Bure’s franchise record with a multi-point game his next time out.Colorado can counter with perhaps the top line in the NHL — center Nathan MacKinnon and wingers Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen. This Avs trio ranks 1-2-3 on the team in points: Rantanen with 11 goals and team highs in assists (35) and points (46); MacKinnon with a team-high 19 goals and 43 points; and Landeskog with 16 goals and 31 points. All three of them are age 26 or younger, and MacKinnon Austin Czarnik Jersey Womens , 23, finished second in the Hart Trophy voting last season and also second in the NHL in points per game. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A pep talk by new coach Scott Gordon has helped turn James van Riemsdyk’s game around.Van Riemsdyk recorded a hat trick, and Nolan Patrick had two goals and two assists to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 7-4 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night.Van Riemsdyk scored a power-play goal with 7:56 left in the second period, scored on a deflection late in the second and added an empty-net goal 1:17 remaining in the third. He has five goals and two assists during a three-game point streak after having just one point in his previous seven games. The Flyers’ big offseason signing, van Riemsdyk had slumped and stood at six goals through 27 games when interim coach Gordon had a heart-to-heart with the veteran center following Philadelphia’s 5-3 loss at Washington last Tuesday in a game in which van Riemsdyk was demoted to the fourth line.“It was nice to get clarification,” said van Riemsdyk, who signed a five-year, $35 million contract last summer. “Sometimes you don’t even realize you’re not doing it the way they want you to do it.”Gordon, who replaced Dave Hakstol last month, was an assistant in Toronto, where van Riemsdyk prospered. The coach wanted to see van Riemsdyk get back to what worked with the Maple Leafs Josh Morrissey Jersey , particularly making his presence felt in front of the net.“It’s one of the areas I felt he can be better,” Gordon said. “I know what he’s capable of. I can fall back to Toronto, what I saw there and what I wasn’t seeing here.”Van Riemsdyk’s first tally, a power-play goal with 7:56 left in the first period, turned the tide after Minnesota jumped to a quick 2-0 lead. Philadelphia’s power play came in ranked 30th, connecting at just 12.8 percent, and Gordon made major changes by installing five forwards onto the top unit. It paid off when van Riemsdyk deflected Jakub Voracek’s slap shot to pull the Flyers within 2-1. The goal was upheld after a video challenge by Minnesota.“It’s nice to see we were able to score in bunches tonight,” van Riemsdyk said.Philadelphia tied a season high for goals.Wayne Simmonds also had two goals for the Flyers. It was just the second win in the last 11 games for Philadelphia, which began Monday with the fewest points in the league.Jason Zucker, Marcus Foligno, Joel Eriksson Ek and Ryan Suter scored for Minnesota. The Wild dropped to 0-5-1 against Metropolitan Division teams.“You can’t make the mistakes we’re making out there and hope to win a hockey game http://www.officialhockeyjetsshop.com/authentic-adidas-kyle-connor-jersey ,” Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said.Philadelphia outscored the Wild 3-1 in a busy second period.Foligno struck first, following his own miss from right in front of Carter Hart, to give Minnesota a 3-2 lead.Patrick entered without a goal in 24 straight games before the first of his two scores tied it at 3. Then he made it 4-3 with 4:32 remaining with a highlight-worthy play. Travis Sanheim took the initial slapper from the point, and Patrick moved his stick between his own legs and shot behind his back after the rebound caromed hard off the back boards for his seventh of the season.“That’s something you practice in the summer,” Patrick said.Asked if he had ever scored a goal like that, Patrick said: “In a beer league.”Simmonds lifted a shot over Devan Dubnyk with 5.2 seconds left. Boudreau pulled Dubnyk after the second, replacing him with Alex Stalock.A fluky goal with 11:42 left in the third pulled the Wild within 5-4. An attempted clearance from in front of Hart bounced off Suter and back into the goal. It was waved off at first, but the officials reversed their initial decision after a video replay showed that Eric Staal was pushed into Hart by defenseman Robert Hagg.Simmonds answered with his second of the game 2:25 later on a breakaway.Notes: Scott Laughton had three assists, while Giroux had two. … Philadelphia D Andrew MacDonald returned after missing the last six games with a lower-body injury. … Philadelphia improved to 9-9-3 against Western Conference teams.UP NEXTWild: Host Los Angeles on Tuesday night.Flyers: Host Boston on Wednesday night.

WASHINGTON (AP) Custom Minnesota Wild Jerseys , Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson is an expert when it comes to knowing what the NHL looks for when punishing someone for a dangerous hit, and he thinks Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman could be in trouble.Wilson, who served a three-game suspension earlier this postseason, spoke out about the way Stralman slammed him into the glass in the first period of what turned into a 4-2 victory for Tampa Bay over Washington in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final on Tuesday night.Stralman was sent to the penalty box for boarding on the play.”It’s a vulnerable position. There’s no doubt there’s contact with my head. If I’m wearing a helmet from five years ago, I think I’m probably unconscious. So we’ll see what they say,” Wilson said, referring to the possibility of the league’s department of player safety reviewing the matter. On the play, Wilson was facing the glass not too far from the Capitals’ bench when Stralman hit him from behind. Wilson dropped to the ice and put his right glove to his helmet. After the game, which allowed the Lightning to cut their series deficit to 2-1 www.officialcanadiensprostore.com , Wilson talked about the ”goose egg on the side of my head” and acknowledged, ”It took me a little bit to collect myself.”He said the hit included ”everything I’ve heard all year: He sees (jersey) numbers for a good amount of time, and he elevates through the back of my shoulder and head.”Capitals coach Barry Trotz referred to those as ”red flags,” and added, ”I understand where Tom’s coming from, no question.””That’s a lot of `don’ts’ for me. From what they’ve been telling me, that’s a lot of `don’ts.’ If I make that hit, 100 percent I’m probably sitting out. So we’ll see. It’s playoffs. It’s an intense time of year,” Wilson said. ”I don’t think he’s a malicious player Montreal Canadiens T-Shirts Authentic , at all. But it’s a pretty dangerous hit. I think a lot of people will say that.”The game was scoreless at the time of that hit, but Tampa Bay would go on to take a 3-0 lead en route to the victory. Wilson thought that Stralman’s play might have set a tone that affected the way play went.”(When) someone gets run from behind, for the next couple shifts, you might be a little more tentative coming back for pucks,” Wilson said. ”We’ve got to play through it. There’s going to be emotion.”Senior vice president of player safety George Parros was at Tuesday’s game. During the season, Parros and Wilson met for about an hour to go over video clips of various hits so the player could understand what the league is watching for.During Washington’s elimination of two-time reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh in the second round of the playoffs, Wilson missed three games after breaking Penguins rookie Zach Aston-Reese’s jaw in a violent collision.Wilson also was forced to sit out two preseason games following a late hit on an opponent, then was suspended for the first four games of the regular season for boarding a player shortly after his return.— Two teams coming off disappointing opening-night losses will look to get to the .500 mark Saturday night when the Vegas Golden Knights start a five-game road trip against the Minnesota Wild.Vegas’ 5-2 loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday evening was surprising for several reasons, not the least of which was that goalie Marc-Andre Fleury lasted just 30:11. That was long enough for Philadelphia to pump five goals past him on just 16 shots.“We left him out to dry there Montreal Canadiens Hoodies Authentic ,” Golden Knights left winger Max Pacioretty said. “That’s frustrating. He’s the backbone of this team, so it’s frustrating when you leave your best player out to dry like that and we’ll make it up to him.”Article continues below ...After making it to the Stanley Cup Finals in its expansion season, Vegas loaded up for another run by acquiring Pacioretty from Montreal and inking Paul Stastny as a free agent in the offseason. They basically took the place of James Neal and David Perron, who are now skating in Calgary and St. Louis, respectively. There was no immediate impact by Pacioretty and Stastny in their Golden Knights debut. Neither scored a point, both were minus one and they combined for just four shots on goal.Vegas center Pierre-Edouard Bellemare referred to the loss as a slap in the face. Coach Gerard Gallant said it’s just a matter of the team getting back to work.“I think the expectations started late last year when we got into the playoffs,” Gallant said. “We were a good team. We know we’re a pretty good team again this year … obviously, things didn’t go our way tonight at all.”They also didn’t go Minnesota’s way in Denver, where not even another Zach Parise opening-night marker and a terrific performance by goalie Devan Dubnyk could save the Wild from a 4-1 loss to Colorado.Parise’s tap-in marker just 6:14 into the game marked his 10th goal on opening night Montreal Canadiens Hats Authentic , second among active players. He nearly notched his 11th to snap a 1-1 tie in the second period, but his backhand bat of a rebound caromed off the right post.“That’s where he’s made his living,” Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said of Parise. “He goes to the front of the net, he’s going to score a lot of goals. That’s what he did.”While Parise scored, Dubnyk mostly denied. He made 36 saves on 38 shots, keeping Minnesota in contention for two points on a night where it was outshot 40-21. Among his best saves were a glorious glove stop of Nathan MacKinnon and a sprawling pad save on a Colin Wilson attempt that seemed certain to find net.But two empty-netters in the last 1:53 tagged the Wild with a loss that it probably deserved, given the Avalanche’s nearly 2-to-1 advantage in shots on net.The good news for Minnesota is that it’s entering a home-heavy stretch of its schedule. Saturday’s game kicks off the first of two three-game homestands in the next three weeks. Of the next nine games, seven will be played at Xcel Energy Center.

The 2016 Vezina Trophy winner was in late-season form to help the Capitals kill off three of four Philadelphia power plays and avoid what would have been their first three-game losing streak since January.“That’s a story line that we’re privileged to have sometimes is that when we’re not at our best, we’ve got one of the best if not the best in the league back there making up for some of our mistakes,” said winger Tom Wilson, who scored his 22nd goal of the season. “That’s what a goalie’s for. He’s the last line of defense. We’re lucky to have him.”Travis Boyd and Jakub Vrana also scored for the Capitals, who guaranteed themselves remaining in first place in the Metropolitan Division on Monday when they’re scheduled to visit President Donald Trump at the White House. Holtby is one of two players who have said they will not attend.Washington lacked some intensity the past two games after a showdown with the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday. We liked the way we were playing, and last two weeks it hasn’t gone our way.”Washington is trying to avoid an ill-timed slump after losing top-four defenseman Michal Kempny for an indefinite period of time with a lower-body injury. With Kempny out, Capitals coach Todd Reirden mixed up his defensive pairings against the Flyers, moving All-Star John Carlson to his off side to play with fellow righty Nick Jensen.“I think everyone knows how skilled he is and his capabilities out there Brett Howden Jersey Womens , so it’s not surprising that he can play his off side,” Jensen said of Carlson. “It doesn’t matter who I’m out there with.
